Hair Loss In Men & Women

The correct name for severe loss of hair, male baldness pattern, or hair loss in women, is Alopecia, which affects approximately 65 per cent of men at some time in their life.   The extent and nature of the condition varies greatly. It usually starts with hair loss from the lateral sides of the forehead.  This is usually known as the receding hairline, or receding brow.  An additional bald patch may develop on the top of the head.Depression, stress, and anxiety are some of the symptoms of severe hair loss and can involve issues relating to identity change.

The problems can escalate, especially when the eyelashes and even the eyebrows may be lost. Hair loss is sometimes the result of chemotherapy, or radiation treatment, performed on cancer sufferers...

Females to, can suffer from pattern baldness, in which the parting of their hair, usually at the middle, appears broadened but is less common.

Possible reasons could include a decrease in oestrogen, which normally counteracts the effects of testosterone balding. They are in different kinds of female baldness.

Ponytails, which pull the hair with excessive force, can contribute to baldness. The wearing of a hat rarely causes this, although it is a good idea to let the scalp breathe for more than five hours a day.

Poisoning, severe stress, surgery and childbirth can also result in the loss of head hair. This is known as telogen effluvium.

Infection can also result in a great deal of hair loss.
